I just changed to a new laptop.

On my old laptop, the favorites bookmarks toolbar was on a separate line from left to right.

On my new laptop, this toolbar is on the same line with the URL. So there is only room for 6 bookmarks. (See screenshot)

How can this be changed to 2 separare lines?

About a week and a half ago I experienced an issue with Thunderbird going through file folders and 'randomly' selecting emails to move to the 'Trash' file. At present I have over 1200 messages in 'Trash' with no common denominator for why they were selected. I've never changed my preferences for when or what to delete so it came as a surprise to see this many emails sitting waiting to be manually deleted by me. I'm convinced that the issue must be something in the 'prefs.js' file.

Running TB version: 128.11.0 esr (64-bit) Is the issue tied to version 128.11.0 perhaps?

I have four other TB email client accounts that all work perfectly, except for this one lame duck that really is getting out of hand.

Could probably import and edit the old 'prefs.js' file from a backup of the old email profile, but the number of changes would be significant. File size of the old 'prefs.js' is about 17 Kb's while the newly created one (four days ago) is only 13 Kb's

This client email account is / was very old and has been on the TB update schedule for years. The email address contains upwards of 11,000 emails on the server. There is no server space issue either. The email address is probably more than 10 years old. The other four client email accounts I have are much smaller and less than 4 years old.

Thinking that something in this particular client profile must have gotten clobbered by unknown means, I finally decided to delete the account and set up a new one (losing my address book in the process of course). Fortunately I found an 'abook' in my backups that came close to being up to date.

Now, the new profile has these quirky issues where it won't open the inbox in a window showing the header information that allows one click to open the message immediately below.

Further, the new TB client is constantly downloading and updating folders with old emails from the server each time TB launches, and of course, it adds a few more emails to the 'Trash' file each time. Started at about 700 messages before I decided to delete the client profile and rebuild and now surpasses 1200 in just the last 4 days.

Running out of patience and options.

I have had Thunderbird set to play a sound file when I get a new mail message. I am currently on v128.11.0esr after being on 115 and earlier. I got the custom sound playing whenever a new incoming message arrived but the last several versions seem to have broken that. Possibly v102 was the last time it worked and has reverted to the default system sound for new mail.

After updating to v128.11.0 I was checking all the settings and noticed that path to the sound file shows '%' in place of any spaces in the folder path. I never paid attention to the % before since it worked on this Windows 10 computer since new in 2021 but stopped working in the last few years. I did notice that Edge opens some .mht files and displays the locally saved web pages with the % without a problem. Actually displays '%20' instead of the spaces. If I do file open from Firefox after navigating to the .mht file it opens in Edge instead of Firefox. Not sure if Edge or Firefox saved the webpage originally but now only Edge will open it.

I did change the folder name replacing the spaces with '_' and now the sound will play but if Windows allows spaces in folder names and paths why should Thunderbird now care?

I use the middle button only for toggling auto-scrolling on and off, or at least that's what I want to do.

That works, unless I mistakenly (often) click the button while over a hyperlinked image or link. In that case, the link opens in a new tab which disrupts my workflow.

How can I set up the mouse in FireFox so that clicking the middle button will ONLY toggle scrolling on and off and never open a link that may happen to be under the cursor?

I've been looking for a solution for this online for ages, and hope there is a setting for this. It's a frustration many times daily.

Firefox is opening on startup even though it is disabled in the settings.

I try to change the settings in Firefox and it prompts me to open my windows startup settings page.

The windows startup settings page does not have a Firefox on the list.

Both methods of disabling startup is inaccessible.

It looks like startup is disabled according to Firefox's settings, but it is not.

This is super annoying and a stupid problem.

After a recent update, firefox has sometimes started shifting my currently-active tab to the end of the list when I click on it. It's messing up my organization, especially when I click on something in a tab group, because when it gets moved to the end, it removes it from the tab group. Any idea how to disable this? I can't find a setting for it.

I have been using Firefox for the last 5 years, I have been content with their services and for that reason I keep using it. Lately I had computer issues so I had to reset my computer and start over this includes Firefox as well. Anyhow because of my lifestyle i do different things like school work, farming, and other stuff. Windows has a feature called "Desktops" this feature is very handy to me as it lets me organize my tabs and windows base on the topic like school or work, (To illustrate this I included a picture of how I have it organize.) well, sometimes my computer shuts down by accident or intentional. Regardless if it was shut down by accident or not, I would boot my computer up and lunch Firefox, and Firefox would open my tabs and windows in the Desktop that It was previously at. For example, I would have all of my school related tabs and windows in the School Desktop, and all of my Work related stuff in the work Desktop, after booting Firefox would automatically place my tabs windows in those compartments, well now Firefox doesn't do that anymore and it is frustrating because every time I boot my computer up after an update or a restart, when Firefox is lunch Firefox will place all of my tabs and windows in the first Desktop, and this is frustrating because every time that happens I have spend time on sorting my tabs out to the right compartment, and to be honest I'm getting sick and tired of doing it because i lose time. So to anyone who reads this, can you please help me figure out what is wrong, because if it is a setting then that's is understandable but if it is Firefox then it would break my heart because as an user and a fan It would break my heart to stop using Firefox as my primary app.
