cannot send emails. First "login to smtp.gmai.com with user name has fail.' Then asked to enter new password
I was using my email receiving and send in the late evening everything was fine. Next morning I get up and now I cannot send emails. What the heck happened. I've been using outlook and I hate it. I want my Thunderbird back. First it comes up with box that says "login to smtp.gmai.com with user name has fail.' Then asked to enter new password which I don't have but I try different passwords anyway. After a few tries it seems to connect to something and tries to send the message. But after a few seconds nothing happens. Did Thunderbird update that night and bigger things up? I'm so upset.

Go to Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the account settings and make sure that all instances of SMTP servers for that gmail server name have an authentication method of oauth. Oauth pops up requests for re-authentication in web page sized windows, little dialogs asking for a password are a clear indicator of years out of date authentication settings.
Thank you so much Matt. Such a simple resolve but I'm very analog when dealing with this kind stuff. Been using outlook for the last couple of weeks and it's a nightmare. Thunderbird is so clean and organized.
