So, all of a sudden my incoming emails went directly to the "Junk" folder for no apparent reason. When I go to the Junk folder to view my emails, they don't show up in the right viewing column.

And when I try to send them back to my "Inbox," they don't go there and I have no idea where they go. I can't see them anywhere. I've checked my outgoing settings and they're where they are supposed to be....as well as my incoming server settings. They are where they should be. I use Comcast, and have checked with them, and those settings are correct

So at this point I have no idea what to do, and obviously need help from someone much more knowledgeable then me! Hopefully I've explained the issue clearly, and have made it easier for those of you out there. I'm not a computer dummy....but this has be quite baffled, as it came on suddenly, and had weird characteristics.

Right now Thunderbird is taking all my deleted Comcast email and undeleting it. It's doing it for every folder and going back to 2008. This happened about a year ago o a gmail account. I hope it doesn't hop over to gmail when it's done with Comcast. This is TERRIBLE! Did a setting change with the last update? What can I do other than manually go through thousands of emails and re-delete?

Hey...I'm running High Sierra OS on an older Mac. Thunderbird 115.18. Sometimes I need to search older emails. I have a lot of old sent messages stored locally on my computer.

When I run a global search using the handy search box, it's very hit or miss whether the emails I'm looking for will show up in the results. If I use shift>command>F however, all the results show up, no problem.

All my folders/subfolder are checked to allow the global search, and I have run the "repair" feature on pretty much all of them.

Most of my older sent folders were migrated over from Mac Mail. Global search works on those folders just fine. But new folders that were created IN Thunderbird, where I am downloading slightly more current sent emails do not show in global search results (but do show in the shift>command>F searches).

Anyone know why "global search" cannot function as well as the alternative search function?

I'm stumped. Would love to use global search because the search bar is right there and it's one less step. But if it won't work...sigh...

I have gone to windows and set the mailto up as Thunderbird being the default app. I have placed the shortcut in Thunderbird in %appdata% for the user.

If Thunderbird isn't open, and I right click on a file on my desktop, send to - Thunderbird, it will open Thunderbird, but it will not begin a new email and attach the file to the email.

Is there another setting I need to do to get the right click - send to working?

Hello, My TB account is setup properly and I am getting mails from my gmail account. But when I compose mail on my TB account I am not prompted for any address completion while composing the e-mail. On Thunderbird and my web gmail there are many e-mail ids in the inbox.

How do I make TB so that it prompts me with these e-mail ids which are in Inbox when I compose mail?

When we moved, our internet service provider did not provide service at the new address. As a result, they killed my IMAP email account I had for more than 20 years. There is a Thunderbird profile folder located in Users\name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\********.default-esr\ImapMail\. It is 49GB in size. How do I get Thunderbird to access this folder and these emails? Do I rename it and/or move it to a different location? Please help. Thanks.

There are 2 questions in the Q&A section without any reply. I have no idea what has transpired since this morning when the dates were perfect. I went out for about 3 hours and on return the clock is showing a 12-hour clock without am or pm. So searching by date and time is a laborious process. I cannot find anything in settings relating to 12 or 24. What am i missing? Thanks

Every time Thunderbird upgrades, my Comcast account access breaks complaining of needing a new password. I have tried everything and nothing works - other than to leave everything alone. Then, about 2 days later, it just works again... until another Thunderbird upgrade gets pushed out. Is there any way to prevent this other than to forego future updates?

The ability to insert and resize images in-line with email text is a major function in my use of email. There have been at least two add-ons that smoothly and efficiently accomplished this task in previous versions of Thunderbird, the most recent being 'Shrunked Image Resizer'. Both those add-ons became unavailable due to updates to T-bird. Please Please allow compatibility with an add-on that does this. It is a make-or-break issue for me. Thank you.

Hey Team,

ICloud account in Thunderbird keeps rejecting authentication for SMTP Server.

I have tried:

User ID / Apple ID Password. User ID / Application Password.

Settings Port 587 STARTTLS. Normal Password (tried Encrypted Password)

Deleted account twice and restarted. Nothing.

I have a Gmail and two other custom domain accounts and they all work. Not my first rodeo. Stumped.

When trying to update Thunderbird on Ubuntu 24.04 the installer says "Quit to Update". I have quit Thunderbird and unpinned from task bar, restarted and still the same. I then decided to uninstall and used 'sudo apt remove Thunderbird' which says it was removed, I then used 'sudo apt purge Thunderbird' which comes back with Package 'Thunderbird' is not installed, so not removed. So tried again, Guess what same result! Any Ideas please?

Hello, after updating the last version 128.10.0 I cannot send emails anymore. I read online about possible solutions, nothing worked. I have an updated Windows 11, my provider is KPN (Telfort). Telfort is a company that has been taken over by KPN, but I can still use my Telfort email address and smtp.telfort.nl as smtp address. That has not changed. I tried several adjustment for the smtp adrress, but the problem remained.

Hello, I use IMAP accounts for my online emails. And like yearly I make a mass copy of emails from an online folder to a local folder. I used the function "copy to" in the context menu, alternatively moving the mouse together with ctrl for the copy option. In my current version (nearly new...) the copy process is completely in the background (no info on progress etc.). And also no info on failing. And it does fail, after copying a small portion of the selected emails.

I would be totally fine with a modal dialog process, that is thunderbird blocked until the process has finished. Is there an option? Or any other way to have a bit more control on the process status and success? Thank you

I click on the 'get messages' and it says it is downloading 4 messages (for instance) but then only 2 of them are there. Not in the inbox, or spam or trash, just not there. I can often see the subject of a message but there is no message like that. This has only been happening for about a week or two now.
